Holding hands,
we walked into the arrival hall
smiling faces, welcome hugs
You'll like this place, you'd whisphered.

Now I look carefully:
tearful faces, farewell hugs
and you said I'll like this place?

You cheated me, my dear
When you held my hand, I thought
we were stepping into the arrival hall
But this is the departure lounge.

Yes it is a departure longue where we arrive to start our journey and again a departure longue when the journey ends. Nice concept. Thank you for reminding the mortality. A chance to review our life.

stumbled on this poem when i was casually reading ur blog.. it has a great degree of melancholy to it, but a greater degree of truth.. beautiful!
