Like you said he did all that many directors couldn't do in 50 years, in just a 13 year career.

That apart,I don't think it is right to compare yourself with anyone. Yes, I understand this is more of an analysis of one's life. Yet, who knows what Dutt couldn't do in his life.

Remember you would never be khaali-haath :)janani sampathhttp://unrelentingdreamer.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17929252.post-60156992486702800412010-04-30T06:47:08.375+05:302010-04-30T06:47:08.375+05:30BG, Guru Dutt is my favorite subject to ponder whe...BG, Guru Dutt is my favorite subject to ponder when I feel very low or very high not because of his talent or his creative prowess, but, just because he died at 39 (whatever the reason or the cause or whether it was an accident or intentional). I feel he got the best the life had to offer by that time. If he'd lived after that he'd have just shamelessly recycled whatever he had done by that time (and may have been a success in his lifetime). But, it would all have been phony.

His sister once said in a TV interview; coming out of the theatre after watching Pather Panchali Guru Dutt told his mother; 'this man has done something that I wished to do in Pyaasa'. For some people it is hard to go on after realising that life is just another name of compromise.

By the way, I'd have been happily dead at 39 if I'd the courage to live like you, or a Sunday column with a byline or even a blog like this. :-)Paresh Palichahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15521084555278491021noreply@blogger.com
